Pledge

To mark the initiation of 100-day campaign related to NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyan in J&K, a Pledge ceremony was organized at Government Degree College (GDC) Marheen on 11-04-2026 under the nationwide initiative, NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyan, with the objective of raising awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promoting a drug-free lifestyle among students. The programme was conducted under the able guidance and leadership of the respected Principal Ma’am Prof.(Dr) Anupama Gupta, whose inspiring words motivated students to actively participate in this noble cause. Faculty members and students assembled in large numbers, demonstrating their commitment to building a healthy and aware society. During the ceremony, students collectively took a solemn pledge to abstain from the use of drugs and to contribute towards making the nation drug-free. They also resolved to spread awareness among their peers, families, and communities regarding the dangers associated with substance abuse. The Convener of NMBA, Dr. Balbinder Singh addressed the gathering and emphasized the crucial role of youth in eradicating the menace of drugs from society. He encouraged students to adopt healthy lifestyles, focus on their education, and act as responsible citizens. The event concluded on a positive and determined note, conveying a strong message of unity and commitment. The pledge ceremony proved to be a significant step in reinforcing the values of discipline, responsibility, and social awareness among the students of GDC Marheen. Such initiatives play a vital role in shaping the attitudes of young individuals and empowering them to contribute meaningfully to society. The pledge ceremony under the NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyan successfully instilled a sense of responsibility and commitment among the students towards achieving a drug-free India.
