Debate competition

To mark the initiation of the 100-day campaign under the nationwide initiative NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyan, Government Degree College (GDC) Marheen organized an intra-college debate competition on the theme “Drug Free Campus” on 16-04-2026. The primary objective of the programme was to raise awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and to promote a drug-free lifestyle among students. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with 10 students showcasing their views and oratory skills on the pressing issue.The programme was conducted under the able guidance and leadership of the esteemed Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Anupama Gupta. In her address, she encouraged students to actively contribute towards building a drug-free society and appreciated their participation in this noble cause.In the competition, Samiksha secured the first position, followed by Dheeraj who stood second, while Nitika secured the third position.The evaluation of the participants was carried out by a panel of judges comprising Dr. Munisha Devi, Dr. Shallu Rani, and Prof. Manu Saini, who appreciated the quality of arguments and presentation skills displayed by the students.The event was successfully coordinated by Dr. Balbinder Singh, Convener of NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) in the college.The other faculty members presented on the occasion were Dr. Arun Dev Singh, Prof. Anoop Sharma, Prof. Charan Singh, Dr. PritiKhajuria, Dr. Reemi, and Dr. Sonia Saini.The programme concluded with a strong message advocating collective responsibility in achieving the vision of a drug-free India.
