On 19-02-2025, Jammu & Kashmir Police Department in collaboration with IQAC, GDC Marheen organized awareness programme on the theme “New Criminal Laws”. The occasion was graced by Chief Guest Sh. Anshuman Dubey (CPO) and Special Guests were Sh. Nitish Sharma (DySP), Sh. Ajay Chib (SHO, Rajbagh). The whole programme was organized under the patronage of Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Anupama Gupta. The programme covered the three topics such as Cyber Crime and Digital Safety, Women’s Safety and Empowerment and Juvenile Justice and Rehabilitation. The programme started with the lighting of the lamp along with the recitation of Saraswati Vandana by the students. In the event students and police officials raising awareness regarding Zero FIRs/ E-FIRs, online Protecting Privacy, safeguarding personal information, online scams and exploitation, cyber bullying. Further, they also highlighted the current state of women’s safety in India, the initiatives taken by the government, the challenges faced, and the role of technology in enhancing safety measures. Moreover, they also discussed Juvenile Justice System in India, Current Legal Framework, Operational Aspects and Challenges and Important sections of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015. Students actively participated and clear their doubts by highlighting a number of questions after their discussion. The event was managed by Dr. Balbinder Singh, Prof. Anoop Sharma, Dr. Munisha Devi and Prof. Manu Saini. The other members presented in the event were Dr. Arun Dev Singh, Prof Diksha Sharma, Prof Suman, Dr Meenu Sharma, Prof Naresh Kumar, Prof Naresh Kumari, Prof Saquib and Prof Arpana.
