Government Degree College Marheen successfully organized an Intra-College Debate Competition on 25th September 2025, commemorating the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students and was marked by vibrant intellectual exchange and spirited discussions. The competition featured three teams — Team A, Team B, and Team C, each comprising three talented students. Following a series of compelling and thought-provoking rounds, Team A secured the First Position. The winning team members — Yash Dev Singh, Dooshan, and Vansh — impressed both the judges and audience with their clarity of thought, confident delivery, and in-depth understanding of the theme. Team B secured the Second Position, with noteworthy performances by Simran, Mannat, and Sonali, who displayed excellent teamwork and articulation. The event was graced by the presence of Principal maa’m Prof. (Dr.) Anupama Gupta, who commended all the participants for their commendable efforts. She specially congratulated the winning teams and encouraged those who could not make it to the top to keep participating and honing their skills. Her words of motivation were well received by all and added to the positive and inclusive atmosphere of the event. The programme was coordinated under the supervision of Dr. Manu Saini (Head, Department of Sociology) and Dr. Shallu Rani (Head, Department of Dogri). Faculty members Prof. Sandeep Chaudhary, Dr. Balbinder Singh, and Prof. Anoop Sharma were also present and contributed to the smooth conduct of the event. The event concluded on a high note, celebrating the ideals of healthy competition, critical thinking, and the spirit of expression. It proved to be a memorable occasion for both participants and attendees, leaving a lasting impact and setting a benchmark for future academic and co-curricular engagements at the college.
